Microstructure and Property Evolutions of Q345B Steel during Ultrasonic Shot Peening

In this paper, the surface of Q345B steel was strengthened using ultrasonic shot peening (USP) technology. Through adjustment USP time, power and distance, morphology, roughness microhardness USPed samples were measured scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive analysis (EDS), a roughmeter tester. At same corrosion behavior observed analyzed software simulation calculation an immersion experiment on dynamic polarization curve. tests characterization, influence different process parameters relationship between them explored. The original intention research to obtain better improve both strength resistance material. results indicated that, with increase in time decrease roughness, thickness deformed layer increased at first then stabilized, obvious delamination phenomenon chemical composition difference appeared substrate. It shown that longer shorter distance caused spalling cracks substrate surface, resulting becoming more serious. However, power, sample improved.
